Tresor: True Stories features over 400 photos and stories from the club’s history

To celebrate three decades of Tresor, the iconic Berlin club is to be immortalised with a new archival photo book collecting stories and photos from the club’s 30-year history.

Tresor: True Stories is a 352-page book that contains more than 400 photos that cover the trajectory of the club, as well as more than 40 stories of the attendees of its parties.

The book, which will be released on September 9, is the first photographic publication documenting Tresor’s story. Throughout the book, exceptional and never-before-seen photographs will be published for the first time.

From the club’s inaugural parties in the early 90s to the present, more than 40 partiers who helped start the first nights of the club tell unpublished stories and first-hand accounts from the heart of the place.

“The story is told with the voices of those who were there: more than 40 protagonists share their first-hand memories of the ‘big bang’ that launched techno to the world,” reads the description of the book.

Tresor: True Stories comes amid the institution’s 30th anniversary commemorations, which were postponed last year due to the pandemic. This year, “Tresor 31” celebrates the 31 years of its creation with a festival that covers the months of July and August and in which artists of the stature of Helena Hauff, DJ Stingray and RP Boo, among others, will participate.

In addition to archival photographs by 20 different photographers, Tresor: True Stories also includes brochures, documents and press clippings from his entire career.

The book also uncovers the moment when Dimitri Hegemann, Achim Kohlberger and Johnnie Stieler first discovered the abandoned vaults that made up the original club space, as well as the stories of the recently deceased Regina Baer, co-founder of Kraftwerk and Tresor.
