The festival, located in La Cala de Mijas, will be held on September 1, 2 and 3 at the Sonora Mijas venue.
The countdown to the first edition of the Cala Mijas international festival has already begun, less than a month is left for the most anticipated event on the Costa del Sol to open its doors from September 1 to 3.
Thursday, September 1
The opening day will be led by Arctic Monkeys, the undisputed kings of British rock, with an exclusive date in our country, in addition to previously announced artists such as Bonobo, Chet Faker or Marc Rebillet.
Electronic music will have its own space and identity, hosting sound explorations with an exceptional cast from the first day: Horse Meat Disco b2b Kiddy Smile, a joint set of the most queer electronic references; the genre-breaking rhythms of Josey Rebelle, or Joy Orbison and her savoir faire behind the plates.
There will also be no shortage of brothers Tom and Ed Russell aka Overmono with their jumps from techno to garage or jungle, the feast of sounds of Ross from Friends in its most live facet and the peace and good vibes inherent in the Latin sounds of Denmark.
The British quartet Crawlers and the Malaga passionate about soul and hip hop La Vida de Jaime are also added.
Friday, September 2
In addition to the Australian Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, they join the second day of the festival already essential in the agenda this summer, the oneiric live of the Catalans Maria Arnal i Marcel Bagès, and representing the most festive and iconic facet of the festival, the triple show of 2manyfriends: 2MANYDJS b2b Tiga b2b Dave P. instead of the previously announced Soulwax.
There will also be the soul of Hot Chip Joe Goddard in his facet as a DJ, The Killer Swing with its vibrant live will be on Friday, as well as the most promising Grenadines of the underground electronic scene B2BBs and the head of the London label Rhythm Section, Bradley Zero.
Saturday, September 3
On Saturday, the frontman par excellence of the United Kingdom Liam Gallagher is joined by such established artists as Dan Snaith with two of his most legendary projects: Caribou, perfectly combining electronic production with psychedelic pop. There is also Daphni, with her more sybaritic and rhythmic face, in addition to the undisputed queen of techno Nina Kraviz.
The last day of Cala Mijas will be led by more female artists; the flamenca incombustible Soleá Morente, the Argentine Nathy Peluso, who will transfer her Cramp to Saturday, the collage universe of SIMONA and the DJ from Granada Dalila.
That same day, London electronic references Call Super and Daniel Avery, Leon Vynehall (live) and his already mythical UK house sessions and the Madrid producer and DJ Pional join. Also added to the Cala Mijas poster is the maestro to the dishes of the national pop-rock DaniLess.
In short, a poster where artistic plurality converges with multiple musical styles; all of them distributed in three days that complete the first lines of the debut edition of Cala Mijas.
