More than 25 international artists confirmed for Dantz Festival.

In just five years, this joint project of Donostia Kultura and Tabakalera that was born as a festival has ended up becoming a laboratory for other projects around electronic and avant-garde music: Dantz Point (heritage), Dantz Academy (training), Dantz Wear (sustainable textile brand) accompany the vision and strategy of a festival that seeks to approach the development of a more open, critical and respectful society.

The magnitude that Dantz Festival has reached in 2022 is credited by the fact that in the first preview of the poster we could already see artists such as Nina Kraviz (Russia) or Red Axes (Israel), topping the poster with more than 25 internationally recognized artists such as FJAAK.

For the Dantz festival it has always been important to reflect the artistic breadth as well as the quality, hence the name Nina Kraviz resonates with us as one of the most influential DJs in the world, but many other names tell us about the diversity of origin and formats: Chloé Robinson, Facta, El Txef A b2b Balza, Kimho, Jailed, Jamie aka Skygaze, Miravalles, The Two Mamarrachos, Enrique Del Castillo: Umbráfono, Matvoice, Loreak, Abyme Nabar, Arizonako Billy, Lagant, Neska, Dans, Modulor, Orphidal, Akazie, Costas, HEARTz Family x Bihotza.

There are three spaces in which the festival’s activity will take place, finally, without restrictions that remind us of a post-pandemic time that is already being overcome: the Urumea Square of the Kursaal, the Miramón Amphitheater and Tabakalera, with the very spaces that are housed inside, such as the Patio room where we can see the aforementioned German duo FJAAK on Friday, September 9, one of the most acclaimed artists of this edition.

The Dantz festival with its parallel activities around music, such as its Dantz Point project, also seeks to reflect on the world in which we live and where it is going: after exploiting all kinds of resources, the human being encounters a “sea of magma” created by himself formed by remains, waste that is rediscovered to put itself in value. Hence also the sustainable clothing line that they launch together with Emmaus. Somehow they understand the essence of electronic music as, also, a way to take advantage and rediscover, raising the concept of music as a thread of progress and innovation to build a better society.
