For the 26th time, the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Voting will take place this year. From now you can vote for your favorite DJs and make them number one. Will David Guetta make it to the top for the third time in a row or will the top position go to someone else? The choice is yours!
The Top 100 DJs began in 1993 as an editorially curated list of 100 DJs in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Top 100 DJs. With 1.3 million votes per year, it has become the world’s largest public music survey. There are no nominations or participation criteria for the top 100 DJs, but a completely open vote. Voters are simply asked to choose their top five DJs. This can be a DJ with five followers or a DJ with five million followers.

David Guetta has millions of followers and was named the #1 DJ in the world for the second time in a row in 2021. The French superstar, who has worked his way up from underground house clubs to the top of the pop charts, has already won the globally recognized award three times and will be aiming for another title in the 2022 election.

You can influence the whole thing and from now until September 14, 2022 at vote.djmag.com cast your votes and support your favorite DJs. This will even be possible with an Apple ID from this year – previously there was only the possibility to participate by logging in via a Google or Facebook account.

Partnership with UNICEF and Virtual DJ

For the fifth time in a row, Unicef is the official charity partner of the Top 100 DJs. Unicef works in more than 190 countries and ensures that more children in the world are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other charity. DJ Mag will support the organization’s vital work throughout the 2022 campaign; more information on fundraising initiatives will be announced soon.

DJ Mag has also extended its partnership with VirtualDJ. With more than a hundred million downloads, VirtualDJ is by far the most used DJ software on the market and can look back on a recognized history of technical innovations that have shaped digital DJing over the past 20 years. VirtualDJ will be visible during the voting and when the results are announced on social media. Furthermore, DJ Mag will release a video series in which some of the world’s leading DJs will play mini-mixes with VirtualDJ.

Alternative Top 100 DJs

In parallel to the Top 100 DJs Voting, the alternative Top 100 DJs Voting is also running, which is supported by Beatport. This survey uses the same votes as the top 100 DJs as well as a genre filter from Beatport to create a ranking of artists from genres such as house, techno, drum & bass and other genres that are underrepresented in the main survey. Belgian techno artist Charlotte de Witte has topped the alternative list for the past two years.

After the voting is completed, the results of both polls will be announced at the end of October.

Did you know?

As we know it today, the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Voting has existed since 1997. During this time, there were eleven different winners. Carl Cox, Sasha and John Digweed won the voting once each, Paul Oakenfold, Paul van Dyk, Hardwell and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike twice each. The latter are also the only duo who have been allowed to sit on the DJ crown so far. Tiësto, David Guetta and Martin Garrix have each won the DJ-Mag crown three times and the previous record winner is Armin van Buuren – he has been at the top five times.
